Our standards

The principles every examiner follows, on every case, whoever is involved.

Evidence comes first

An allegation is where a case begins, never proof in itself. Each decision separates four kinds of statement: facts the evidence establishes, claims that remain disputed, claims without enough evidence, and recommendations.

The standard of proof

A breach is established when the evidence shows it is clearly more likely than not. Where the evidence is evenly balanced, the outcome is “not enough evidence”, rather than a guess.

How evidence is handled

  • Files are stored privately and given a digital fingerprint (SHA-256) on arrival. The fingerprint is checked again every time a file is opened.
  • Only the reporter (for their own uploads) and the staff working on the case can open evidence, and each access is logged.
  • Evidence never appears on public pages.

Independence

  • Examiners declare any conflict of interest and step away from the case when they do.
  • Nobody who is party to a case may examine or review it.
  • A challenge is always reviewed by someone who took no part in the earlier decisions.
  • No payment or influence can affect a decision. Revyu has no paid plans.

Records

Decisions, sanction events, agreement acceptances and the audit log can only ever be added to. The database itself refuses any attempt to edit or delete them, and the audit log is chained so that tampering can be detected.

Accountable staff

Staff work under their own names: each examiner's Discord name, roles and decisions count are public in the staff directory. Members whose case they decided can rate them, and those ratings are shown publicly too.
