Note
In short. Your server lets Revyu examine reports about it. Revyu decides independently and explains every decision in writing. The bot only does what you delegate, and only what Discord confirms is shown as done. You can revoke any sanction with a written reason, and everything is recorded on both sides.
This agreement sets the terms under which a Discord server ("the Server") participates in Revyu, an independent reporting, examination and accountability platform. It is accepted by the Server's verified owner ("the Owner").
When the Owner accepts, Revyu records:
| What is recorded | Why |
|---|---|
| The Owner's Discord account | To know who accepted |
| The Server ID | To know which server is bound |
| This version number | To know which terms apply |
| A cryptographic fingerprint (SHA-256) of this exact text | To prove the text was not changed afterwards |
| The date and time | To know from when the terms apply |
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Report | A complaint submitted to Revyu about the Server, its members, teams or staff. |
| Reporter | The person who submits a report. |
| Reported person | The person or team a report is about. |
| Decision | Revyu's written, reasoned outcome on a report. |
| Sanction | A Discord action attached to a decision: a timeout, a removal, a ban or a restricted role. |
| Reviewer | A member of Revyu staff, holding one of Revyu's published review grades. |
| Director | Revyu's founders, who alone decide on server participation. |
The Owner authorises Revyu to examine reports that concern the Server, within the report categories the Owner enables, and to issue independent, reasoned decisions.
Every decision separates:
Important
An allegation alone is never treated as proof. Each decision is signed with the public name of the reviewer who took it.
A decision may include a sanction that is either:
| Type | When it applies | Who acts |
|---|---|---|
| Required | Only for actions the Owner has delegated to the Revyu bot in the Server's configuration (timeout, removal, ban or a configured restricted role). | The Revyu bot, and the Owner agrees to respect it. |
| Recommended | Any other measure. | The Owner decides whether to act on it. Revyu never applies a recommendation. |
Timeouts use Discord's own lengths only: 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day or 1 week.
Sanctions are limited by each reviewer's grade, and checked by Revyu's servers on every action:
The Revyu bot acts only with the permissions the Owner grants it, and only for delegated actions.
| The bot can | The bot cannot |
|---|---|
| Apply delegated sanctions | Bypass Discord's permissions or role hierarchy |
| Check that it has the permissions it needs | Ask for the Administrator permission |
| Reverse a sanction when it is revoked or overturned, where Discord allows it | Read message content in the Server |
| Post sanction updates in a channel the Owner chooses | Act in a server that isn't actively participating |
Warning
Revyu shows a sanction as applied only after Discord confirms it. If permissions, role hierarchy or a Discord outage prevent it, the sanction is shown as failed, with the reason, and Revyu never claims it was enforced.
The Owner may revoke any sanction applied in the Server, at any time, from the owner dashboard.
When the Server records 3 or more owner revocations within 90 days (the current published thresholds, which Revyu may change with notice):
Tip
Thresholds never cause automatic termination. A revocation with a genuine reason is a right, not a fault: the review looks at the reasons, not just the count.
| Who | What they can do | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| The Owner | Ask for a clarification of any decision concerning the Server, from the owner dashboard | A clarification request doesn't change a decision by itself |
| The reporter and the reported person | Challenge a decision, reviewed by a reviewer independent of the earlier decisions | At most 2 challenges per case, within 30 days of the latest decision |
The Owner agrees to:
| Measure | When | Who decides |
|---|---|---|
| Suspension | After a compliance review, a serious breach of this agreement, or a security incident | The Director |
| Termination | After a compliance review, or a serious documented breach | The Director |
| Leaving | At any time, by contacting Revyu and removing the bot | The Owner |
Every change of participation status is recorded with its reason and shown to the Owner.
Revyu may publish new versions of this agreement.
Caution
No payment, sponsorship, partnership or influence can buy a decision or change the standard of evidence applied to the Server. Revyu currently offers no paid plans.
